Iridium Launches the New 9555 Satellite Phone

Iridium recently unveiled a new smaller and most power satellite phone, the Iridium 9555.  This is the fourth generation phone followed by the Iridium 9500, 9505, and 9505a.  The all new design of the 9555 gives users a significantly reduced size, a better hand friendly form factor, and an internally stowed antenna, which is a vast improvement over earlier models.  Other improvements include a brighter screen, improved short messaging, email capabilities, speaker phone and a mini USB data port.  Like all the Iridium phones the new 9555 is water and shock resistant engineered to withstand this world’s most rugged and remote environments.  Iridium provides satellite phones that are truly global coverage, reliable, real-time and secure.  Users have relied on Iridium’s unique worldwide mission; critical satellite service for years and with the new features and capabilities of the 9555 Iridium has exceeded customer needs even more.

Iridium offers the only truly global satellite voice and data service with complete coverage of the earth including the oceans and Polar Regions.  The Iridium 9555 will take advantage of Iridium’s 66 low earth orbiting cross linked satellite constellation.  The constellation is fully meshed within orbit spares.  It is the largest commercial constellation in the world.  This gives powerful and unique voice and data communication to users everywhere on the planet from the most remote and harsh regions to oil rigs and ships at sea.

First responders will need back up emergency communication in the event of a man made or natural disaster, which will be solved by the only satellite phone that can currently provide the most reliable communication in invents as critical as this.  The Iridium phones are the only satellite phones that can provide voice and data communications from any location in any condition even when cellular, landline and radio infrastructures have been compromised or completely disrupted.  The simple to use light weight 9555 is the satellite phone of choice by government emergency management agencies and users needing communication in very remote environments.
