Five Ways to Charge a IsatPhone Pro Satellite Phone

Inmarsat Isatphone

Having multiple options to charge a satellite phone is very important.  When using a satellite phone in most cases you are outside of cellular range or the cellular and landline service has been disrupted requiring the need of a satellite phone.  This also means you may not have a working wall outlet or vehicle cigarette charger available to charge.  If all power is out a wall charger does not work.  A vehicle cigarette charger will only last as long as the vehicle has a working battery or fuel to charge that battery.

Like most satellite phones including the Iridium and Globalstar satellite phones, the IsatPhone Pro has a universal AC wall charger which includes four International adapters.  This works great in the U.S. and in other countries where AC power is available or there is an available generator providing AC power.

Also like most satellite phones the IsatPhone Pro has a cigarette lighter adapter allowing you to charge the phone with a vehicle, battery jumper box and even a solar panel.  There are numerous inexpensive portable solar panels available some of which are flexible enough to roll up for storage taking up very little room while traveling.  Most of these portable solar panels have a male cigarette lighter adapter allowing most any small electronic device with a female cigarette adapter to be charged.  These devices can include a satellite phone, cellular phone, notebook computer, camera and rechargeable batteries.  The time it takes to charge a satellite phone or any other electronic device depends on the size of the battery and the intensity of the sun while you are charging.

The IsatPhone Pro is the only handheld satellite phone that has a universal serial bus (USB) interface that is capable of charging the phone.  This is one of a number of features on the IsatPhone Pro that makes the satellite phone unique compared to other satellite phones on the market.  The IsatPhone Pro out of the box includes a micro USB cable.  This allows you to charge the IsatPhone Pro from a portable computer when available.  Many of the newer battery jumper boxes used to jump start your vehicle now include a USB port(s) as well as female cigarette lighter adapters.

You also can charge up extra batteries just as a backup.  The IsatPhone Pro has the longest battery life of any handheld satellite phone on the market with eight hours talk time and 100 hours standby time.  Three batteries would give you 24 hours of talk time.  Most satellite phones use lithium batteries that will stay charged for months while in storage.

The IsatPhone Pro can be charged in more ways than any other satellite phone on the market.

Be ready in any emergency with numerous ways to charge your satellite phone.
